Can vision therapy improve your driving skills? Only halfway through treatment, one patient lost her fear of driving near cement construction blocks at the edge of the road. Her boyfriend noted she did not panic when driving near the blocks. A professional truck driver with more than twenty years of trucking, also only halfway through care, noted he is now relaxed while driving.

Just a week after our patient lost the fear of abutment she noted she can now enjoy the scenery on the edge of the road.
Jazmin Galvin, while working for our local us Congressman and attending McGeorge Law School, passed the bar on her first try. Yet, she paid the price with a lot of eyestrain.
Below is Jazmin's testimony. Why couldn't it be yours?
Years later a real estate broker says:
On the Aug16 Face book page Alexandra Toledo announced the opening of her Real Estate Broker Company, Sandra Properties, Inc. She offers Real Estate Sales and Property Management. Right after I congratulated her with, “Way to go, Lady! Be blessed in your new endeavor,” she responded with: “Bill Henshaw thank you. Your eye therapy years ago made it possible ❤ .” |

The Super Bowl & Vision Therapy
Larry Fitzgerald was outstanding in the 2/1/2009 XLIII (43) Super Bowl and the preceding play-offs. One main reason he is an outstanding athlete is the vision therapy his grand father Dr. Robert Johnson provided for his hidden vision condition. Originally vision therapy was to improve his visually related learning difficulty. As Larry's interest in athletics emerged Dr. Johnson added sports vision therapy. Yes, the same treatment through vision therapy for visually related learning problems is the same for enhancing athletic performance. Whether you have 20/20 eyesight or need glasses, you can be helped with vision therapy for learning difficulty or athletics.
Care can be provided from children to adults to professional athletes. Dr Henshaw was personally trained by Dr. Bob Pepper, the optometrist for the Portland Trailblazer's basket ball team. He also learned from optometrists who helped the Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Islanders, and racing car driver, Jackie Stewart. Dr Henshaw has personally treated an Olympic swimmer, professional racing car driver, and rodeo champion. Added to the list are many recreational athletes and children and adults with learning difficulty. One armature golfer reduced his handicap by six points. Robby increased his reading level two years within two weeks of treatment.
If you wish someone in your family to do better in sports or academics give us a call at 334-2020. Who knows, maybe one of your children could be another Larry Fitzgerald.

Dear Dr. Henshaw,
This thank you is long, long overdue. In October 2015 I was alone homeless on the streets of Lodi and developed a very bad eye infection. Divine intervention, I believe, led me to your office where you told me that the infection if worsened could have blinded me. You took great care in examining my eyes, spent your personal time that evening to help me get the medication I desperately needed, and gave me $20 from your own wallet.

You took great care in examining my eyes, spent your personal time that evening to help me get the medication I desperately needed, and gave me $20 from your own wallet.
You then referred me to another optometrist to get the glasses through the Lions Club as mine were stolen along with a backpack of supplies. Here are the "glasses" you loaned me. I know they are part of an antique collection of yours. I wanted to let you know that I have given $20 and more to friends in need, thus passing your spirit of generosity along.
I have now been out of the homelessness for one year and have been daily involved in the AA program Fellowship (I have the disease of alcoholism and became an alcoholic) for three years now and have gone back to church (LDS church). I thank your staff for their kindness. I did not feel looked down upon as a homeless person.
I am internally grateful Dr. Henshaw.
With love and sincere appreciation,
D. S.

A life lived Better
My first eye exam with Dr. Henshaw was much different than any other eye exam I’ve had in the past, it was more thorough and eye opening. At the end of the exam he shared with me that I had an eye turn in one eye which explained the mental and physical exhaustion I would experience almost everyday.
He also shared with me that I had some vision processing difficulties which also explained the extreme effort I was using to be productive at work and even my personal relationships.
It only took just a handful of vision therapy sessions for me to begin to notice great results with my vision. Most importantly I learned a lot about myself, my eyes, and how I am designed to experience life with a lot less physical and mental strain and worry then I was previously experiencing.
After a few months of vision therapy my eye turn is gone! I can go through a full day of work and activities and not get stressed out or exhausted at the end of the day.
Now I’m learning how to use my vision properly while enjoying life more. My productivity and relationships have benefited also because it’s easier for me to remain focused on tasks and conversations with friends and family which has helped improve my overall enjoyment in life.
I’m very grateful to Dr. Henshaw and his staff for helping me learn to see and use my vision in a more excellent way.

I couldn't believe the change in the girl next door! I had to ask.
Narcy's Vision Therapy Story
When I saw the remarkable changes in my next door neighbor’s daughter Lauren, I just had to visit Dr. Henshaw. When talking with my neighbor I found out Lauren had the same vision condition as me. We both had amblyopia and an eye turn. However, when I was examined, Dr. Henshaw found I had even more in common with Lauren. We both had vision processing problems. Dr. Henshaw decided to emphasize the vision processing rather than the eye turn and the amblyopia because that treatment helped Lauren improve the eye turn and amblyopia as well. I’m sure glad he made that call.
Vision processing therapy is normally for kids who have trouble learning in school. I am a working mom. Dr. Henshaw informed me you do not grow out of a vision processing problem, often confused with ADD. Many of you adults who struggled in school or worked too hard to get the grades or are still accused of ADD may be able to be helped just like I was.
After treatment I found an enhanced ability to communicate. Before I would speak at work or in company; but had difficulty expressing myself. I was content to mainly listen, and felt I had nothing to add to the conversation. During a procedure where I learned to memorize each president in order a light came on. I now find myself talking with coworkers and feeling I am contributing to the dialogue. I am talking more to my husband. Dr. Henshaw tried to tease me and say my husband probably wishes he could quiet you down now. I emphatically and joyfully said, "No, he just loves it and so do I."

Non to voracious reader, and then my already successful practice took off!
Dr. Sovinsky's Vision Therapy Story
Dr. Frank Sovinsky
Before meeting Dr. Henshaw I considered myself a non-reader even though I had good grades in college. I would quickly tire or get sleepy when reading and would have to re-read for comprehension. Thus, I would avoid reading like the plague.
I also had to work very hard in my practice, was fatigued at the end of the day, and always had to get out of town and head for the hills on weekends for relaxation.
That all changed when Dr. Henshaw found and treated me with vision therapy for a "wandering eye". Whenever I looked up close Dr. Henshaw informed me that one eye would look off to the side. I would either see double, force my eye back in, or avoid the close work. I always chose the later.
After vision therapy treatment which was both enjoyable and informative, things changed for me. I developed a voracious reading habit. With my new found love for reading from vision therapy I read many practice management books, among others. The treatment and my new ability to read made a dramatic difference in my practice. After achieving a level in the top of my field of Chiropractic, I sold my practice and began a mentor business. I now spend my time teaching other doctors how to succeed not only in practice, but in life.
Dr. Henshaw's vision therapy was a valuable part in my transformation. Today I advise all my clients to receive the vision therapy services of Dr. Henshaw to enhance their vision which in turn will help them practice.
Why don't you follow my steps and have Dr. Henshaw enhance your vision through vision therapy.

Evelyn Cline's Vision Therapy Story: Still alive today because of my vision therapy!
I want to thank all of you for your help and direction during my vision therapy. As a result of my vision therapy I have noticed a lot of improvements.
First of all, I may not have been alive to write this thank you note or would have at least been badly injured. I was able to prevent a serious auto accident. I got a glimpse of something white in my side vision and immediately applied the breaks. Then a white car careened around the corner from an alley, narrowly missed me, and speed away down the road. I am absolutely convinced that before VT I would not have seen the car with my side vision nor reacted as quickly as I did.
I can focus better now allowing me to read much more efficiently. I can comprehend a series of numbers. My eyes aren't tired anymore, thus allowing me to read for a longer period of time. I can also keep my eyes focused on other people while talking to them. I've also noticed that I no longer have double vision, in fact, the best part is my vision is normal again.
Thank you again,
Signed: Evelyn Cline

A school teacher discovers vision processing therapy. Not only does it help my students, but me too!
Marlene Smith’s Vision Therapy Story
When I was 13 I contracted encephalitis and was bed ridden many months. This affected a lot of things and made school work difficult for me. My memory was not what it used to be. It was exasperating being the next oldest of three girls and a brother as they could do better in school than me. My reading and comprehension and math skills had a lot to be desired.
As a teenager Dr. Henshaw helped out a lot with vision training for an eye teaming problem he felt may be due to my illness. It made enough difference for me to get through school, get a college education, and hold down a job and raise a child as a single mother. Yet something was missing as I always had to work hard to do everything.
It was not until the nineties that Dr. Henshaw’s profession had discovered the importance of vision processing and more importantly how to treat and enhance vision processing.
At my last exam Dr Henshaw wondered if maybe the vision processing skills may be a problem. Sure enough testing proved so. Thus, I elected to treat; and boy am I glad I did! Things changed in a big way for me. My night driving has improved. The night lights on cars don’t glare anymore. I can see at further distance at night, when I look down the road. I concentrate better, remember names of people that I first meet and feel more confident. I made such big changes that I want my sisters to see Dr Henshaw and have the same treatment.

Baseball and learning helped through Vision Therapy!
I took my son T.G. to a local eye surgeon. I thought since the surgeon is so well known that my son would get good care. I was shocked. T.G. was not at his learning potential and occasionally saw double when reading. The doctor ignored my concern about school and focused only on the double vision. He diagnosed a convergence insufficiency that caused the occasional double vision but gave prisms that only compensated for the problem. He said I could find someone to treat the convergence insufficiency with vision therapy but it won’t work.
My nagging concern that T.G.’s learning problem was ignored and finding the glasses made his problem worse, I looked for another opinion and found Dr. Henshaw. Not only did he confirm the convergence insufficiency, and found a vision processing problem that explained my academic concerns, he arranged for my insurance company to cover his exam. My benefit was exhausted at the first doctor’s visit. He took the time to listen to not only my concerns but T.G.’s. He provided an extensive exam, not the rushed one of the first doctor, and he did two other tests to correctly diagnose T.G.’s conditions.
Dr. Henshaw removed the prisms and supplied the correct lens therapy for T.G.’s reading. That gave immediate relief for his reading discomfort and occasional double vision. Yet, T.G. still needed the convergence insufficiency treated to further treat the occasional double vision and discomfort in reading. Dr. Henshaw told me about the National Institute of Health’s study that proved, contrary to the first doctor’s opinion, convergence insufficiency can be cured. Not only does vision therapy successfully treat convergence insufficiency, the old fashioned methods were equivalent to a sugar pill.
Dr Henshaw found a vision processing problem that was interfering with T.G.’s academics as well as retained primitive reflexes. We started treatment for the convergence insufficiency, primitive reflexes, and vision processing. Not only did T.G. improve in school work and control of his occasional double vision, there were additional gains I did not expect.
Even before treatment was complete, T.G.’s athletic skills were greatly improved. I had tears in my eyes as I observed T.G., for the first time, able to skillfully play ball with his dad and brother. He is no longer clumsy and eagerly does his home work more accurately and quickly. Not only does he perform academics well, he looks for a challenge. One of the vision therapy techniques Dr. Henshaw provides is a technique to memorize the presidents of the US forward and backwards in sequential order. T.G. decided to do one for the vice presidents too! I can read his penmanship, his concentration flows, he now tells jokes without mixing up the punch line. I could go on... He is an all new boy!
If your child is struggling with school or even athletics I highly recommend you bring your child to Dr. Henshaw. Oh, yes I found out he treats adults for the same conditions. Apparently we do not grow out of convergence insufficiency or vision processing difficulty.

OCD stopped through vision therapy
Anonymous
Dr. Henshaw,
I must thank you for your help in not only fixing my eyes, but in helping me to become aware of myself and my surroundings. I am amazed by how effective the vision training is and how much of a difference it makes! I must be honest and tell you that I didn’t really believe it was going to work, or was working for that matter. I now believe you and can only hope that more people will experience the awesome benefits of your therapy. Thank you!
I want to share a more personal reason for why the therapy is amazing. When I was13 I was raped by a 20 year old guy I knew. I had a miscarriage and hadn’t even known I was pregnant. I also never told anyone, changed my name to Sandra from Sondra, and “fell asleep” to silently deal with it. On January 23 I told my best friend that I could feel my eyes pulling. It was very weird sensation. I then decided it was time for me to take back the original spelling of my name. Two days later it hit me hard, as if I had just been startled awake from a deep sleep, that I had been raped and I hadn’t had a natural period since that miscarriage. It was a shock to me, as if I has just experienced it. Everything looked different as I glanced around, including myself. The most amazing thing was the my eyes immediately stopped hurting, and still, it’s as if I never had an eye problem. No more headaches, my eyes aren’t tired anymore and never feel irritated. I am now able to see myself, my surroundings, and deal with life as the rational and intelligent young woman that I am. No longer am I a rape victim, but instead, a rape survivor. Without your sessions my eyes may have never aligned or “opened,” never allowing me to see the truth! Thank You!!!!
You always said that people who go through the training will start to see things and notice things they never did before. I now completely understand what you meant. I can now relax and not be such the high-achiever because I’m not a “bad” girl who needs to prove she’s good. I am a good person!
I will never be able to fully express to you, or anyone, how good and different and alive I feel, but I can tell you, from the depths of my heart, thank you! Thank you for helping me open my eyes!
Your most grateful patient!

Headaches, after vision therapy: What headaches?
Over the past 4 years or so, Dr. Henshaw would talk about vision therapy at my yearly eye exam. He told me my eyes were not working well together-convergence insufficiency- and that I was putting a lot of stress on my body, and using a lot of my energy to just force my eyes to work together. I would always listen, nod, and then go my way.
The one complaint that I always had was headaches which were caused by tightness in my shoulders and neck. This made me think more about what Dr. Henshaw had said about vision therapy. I would get a headache anytime I exerted myself beyond my usual daily tasks around the house. Gardening, watching my grand-kids, having guests over, stressful situations, all would tip me over the edge into a two day headache and I always ended up in the chiropractor’s office for relief.
So, in May, 2009, I took the leap and began vision therapy. My ten sessions with the office assistant turned out to be very beneficial. My headaches have decreased, and my body doesn’t feel so tight and stressed. My visits to the chiropractor have decreased considerably. Because I do not have insurance, I am now doing the home therapy program on my home computer. However, I am planning on signing up for another ten sessions when I have the money saved up! Doing the vision therapy has been one of the best decisions I have made.

Judy's Story
More than meets the eye: Judy's story about Mono-Vision
I was a patient at a large prestigious clinic in the Sacramento area where I was fit with mono-vision* contact lenses. Although I could not see clearly during the day and my night vision was extremely blurry I thought I just needed to adjust to the mono-vision. Driving was nearly impossible and I had many near accidents. I started getting very bad headaches but thought they were from my allergies or sinus problems.
When Dr. Henshaw examined my eyes he immediately discovered the mono-vision lens for driving was given to the wrong eye as I am right handed but left eye dominant!!! When Dr. Henshaw got the correct lenses in the correct eye I immediately felt relief. In addition to this he suggested fitting both eyes for far distances and reading lenses over them. Then my vision greatly improved!!! I could easily read my business contracts and my Bible with no strain! I could not only see clearly but was able to concentrate and absorb more information from the materials I was reading.
My headaches are gone, I can see with no strain or effort and my eyes are more relaxed. Recently I went skiing and was amazed at how my skiing had improved too. I am amazed at how vision affects so much of our lives!!!
Judy M. ( an appreciative patient )Maybe there is more than meets the eye regarding your vision. Why not call 334 2020 and set an appointment to find out?
* mono vision is a controversial contact lens treatment where the doctor prescribes one eye for distance viewing and the other for near. See the Mono Vision Myth in Studies and Articles.

I Found the Honor Roll!!!
The Katie Costa story:
Before we saw Dr, Henshaw Katie was struggling in school and in special programs
because she was one year behind.
Katie is now on the honor role in school, and a self starter. As an example, when a progress report showed her grade at a C level, she went to the teacher right away. Katie found out what she needed to bring the grade up, did all the teacher requested in one day, and brought the grade to an A that day. Her former speech therapist was pleasantly surprised and shocked to see Katie’s progress.
She is now reading on her own and just selected a 500 page book to read for pleasure, not school. She also has interest in electron microscopy and seems to have a talent for it which is rare. Her teachers are encouraging her to develop that and she may attend a local junior college to learn more. She is much more self confident and is able to remember math facts she has been unable to do in the past.
We are thankful to Dr. Henshaw who helped Katie blossom. We heartily recommend any child or adult to receive care from Dr. Henshaw.

Austin Andrus
We will begin with Austin being a cute baby as most babies are cute and adorable. He learned to crawl, stand, walk, run and talk at 18 months old for the most common developments. He went to preschool, made new friends, loved snack time and play time. He was not so fond of nap time. Naptime interfered with playtime. We are going to jump to early elementary years and then on to high school. This is a great story with a good beginning and even better ending!
As Austin grew, he struggled with attention and lack of interest to participate in classroom activities. He started to sit by himself away from other kids. He didn't appear very happy and we would always ask him "how was your day today?" his response would always be "not good". When asked how come, "I don't know" was a common answer and then he remained quiet the rest of the ride home.
Another struggle, was reading. Between ages 5-10, kids learn to read with more comprehension and pronunciation. Austin didn't want to read. In fact, he said on more than one occasion, "I hate reading". Some of this was due to his vision. He complained of headaches and stomach aches. Austin's left eye rotated outward in such a noticeable way; that one eye would be looking at the person he was speaking to, while the other looked at something else. Sometimes we would ask him, "Are you looking at me with one eye, while the other eye is looking outside? His response "I can look at two different things at the same time." Finally, we were being told he was failing his classes due to, poor test scores, incomplete assignments and doing below average standards.
The next few years were tough on him and tough on us. Every night, the homework scene would become ugly because everyone was tired after 3 hours of helping with homework. Not because there was a lot, but because he had to stay focused enough to complete the work. There were times when he didn't finish because it was late and we all needed to go to bed. He was always tired. He tried so hard and would be disappointed and bummed because he got a "C" on something he spent several hours on.
All this changed when someone mentioned an eye doctor who specializes in vision therapy. We had no idea what vision therapy meant, what it entailed or the cost. After we met with Dr. Henshaw, we were still uncertain of so many things. All I could do was pray and so I did. Thank goodness Dr. Henshaw's confidence and experience was a determining factor that vision therapy would greatly benefit Austin even though Austin didn't know what or how it would help. He went through all the tests and therapy sooner than anyone anticipated. We were shocked at his progress.
Not long after Austin started his therapy, he began reading more, he became interested in his assignments and before long was actually requesting a book series to read! Austin no longer came home with below average grades or below standards for that matter. He now is one of the top three kids in class to have the highest test scores. We smile really big when we open the report card and there beaming up at him is A's and B's. Grades he deserves with enough confidence now to stand before any class and recite a poem or a speech when necessary and not stare at the ground.
He completed his vision testing with higher scores than any kid his age (even higher than some adults). Never have we been so proud and never have we seen such a dramatic change to Austin in a short period of time. So well worth it, we fully support vision therapy and would be more than happy to discuss with other parents who have concerns or are apprehensive to check it out. Between us and the professional caring staff at his office, we will do our best to answer questions resolving any concerns

Saving lives
Although this is not about vision therapy, some of the time simple care can go a long way:
I am an emergency physician at a local hospital. In the past I had difficulty looking into patient’s throats to find an obstruction. Certainly this needs to be done quickly. Dr. Henshaw provided me with a special pair of glasses that allowed me to not only see more clearly but in the unique posture I must assume to look into a person’s throat. I attribute those glasses to have saved at least two person’s lives. Signed KB

Speaking up in class
Anthony’s self-confidence has improved. He is speaking up in class and is asking questions.
His reading skills and comprehension has improved greatly. Since school started, he is completing his assignments without me pushing him.
I am very happy with the service Anthony has received. Cindy was wonderful and caring. She is a great asset to the office. She understands kids and knows how to work with them. Signed Mom

Cool Stuff
I came here when I was 13 and I had a hard time in school. My mother saw an ad in the newspaper so she brought me in and I was tested. Dr. Henshaw said your eyes go apart so you work hard and you have trouble concentrating. He said we can make the eyes better. Well, we did some really cool stuff like walking on a balance beam to get my balance straight and jumping on a trampoline and doing math at the same time. After a week or so my grades went up. I had better concentration. I played sports better. After 12 visits I left for a month and came back in May. I had improved and that was all I needed to do. Signed Jeremy

Cindy and Mom agree
The changes I’ve seen in Cindy have been very subtle. She doesn’t seem to be as hard on herself as she used to be. She is more aware of where she is in relationship to others around her. She also seems to be handling the pressures of summer school more efficiently. She seems more relaxed and considerably more self-confident. Cindy’s mom
I have noticed that I am checking more of my mistakes in my math. I noticed that reading out loud is easier when I applied the concept of staying in the present and not trying to read ahead. I have learn better how to deal with others mistakes when I am in authority. Signed Cindy

I am very happy with my new vision on life
Vision therapy is done so much for me. I’m not sure where to begin. I came to Dr. Henshaw because my distance vision was going fast. Partly this problem was due to eyestrain at work and I believe another part was due to stress. I seem to always put a lot of pressure on myself to get things done. I wasn’t happy until they were done. Vision therapy has taught me to be happy with myself whether I’m done or not. I have learned to relax and keep things at an even flow. If things get hectic I don’t panic. I just take them one at a time by staying in the present. Yes staying in the present is very important in how you deal with things. I have also found my relationships with people has improved. I know now to take time to listen and really hear what they are saying – not just waiting for them to hurry up and finish. I am very happy with my new vision on life and I am still discovering new things all the time. There is a whole world out there, and now I can really see it. Thank you signed Lisa

A lost contact led to better vision!
I came to Dr. Henshaw’s office because I had lost one of my contact lenses. While I was here I found out I had and eye turn. I found out a lot of interesting things about my vision and how my vision affected my life. I was to learn that I was capable of doing anything including things I thought I hated. My vision problem made me think that there was something wrong with me, but nothing was wrong with me. I was under stress and pushing myself all of the time and hated making mistakes. I learned that I learn from my mistakes, and not to criticize myself if I made any mistakes. I can relax and do anything with the knowledge that if I do make a mistake, I can learn from it. Vision therapy has made me look at things differently. It will help me out in college, and for the rest of my life. Signed Maria

Light no longer bugs me and my college grades went up!
I had visual training four years ago . Before that time, I had an incredible amount of eyestrain, so much so that I couldn’t stand any type of light. I went to several doctors, but no one could figure out what it was. As Dr. Henshaw showed me, it turned out that I used my eyes incorrectly; and consequently in order to accomplish the tasks that I needed to do, I would put an incredible amount of pressure on them. Through visual training, I learned to use my eyes differently, and most importantly, to trust my vision to take care of itself and not put stress on my eyes.
I have seen many improvements in my life. When I returned to my second year in college, I had a much larger ability to concentrate and remember information. I worked a lot less for my classes, but got much better results. My grades improved dramatically. I started getting A’s for the first time in college. I also found that in the past four years my ability to concentrate on an idea or task has grown tremendously. I can often spend hours and hours working on a project without tiring.
The skills that I have learned through visual training have spread into the rest of my life. Learning to trust my vision has taught me to listen and trust what the rest of my body tells me, especially my feelings and emotions. I feel much happier and in control of my life today because of the skills and habits that I acquired through visual training.
I truly believe that visual training put me on the path to accomplishing many of my dreams and to become a completely healthy person. Signed Alexandria

Even an "all A" student can have a visually related learning Problem!
My son’s academic performance has always been excellent – which concealed a great deal of difficulty with his visual processing. The tailored exercises and motivating therapists have brought him significant improvements most noticeably in sustained work on a reading or writing task.
It was a shock to discover a visual processing disorder in a child not showing warning signs. I am positive that Vision Information Processing Therapy (VIP Program) has given him the tools he will need for the rest of his life. Before the visual difficulties could overwhelm his copying coping mechanisms or damage his self-esteem.

VIP helps with reading
Christiana (one of our vision therapists) was a wonderful and patient teacher*. She took the time needed and was truly concerned about Randy’s progress in his treatment in the VIP program as well as his school work. We believe the VIP program has helped Randy with his visualization process and reading. Signed Susan L
*note Despite Mrs L’s. use of the word teacher instead of therapist, we do not teach at all. We only treat the patient’s vision system that interferes with academics. In this case we treated a vision processing problem - the vision condition that affects learning the most./ Dr. H.

Yes, an adult can have a vision processing problem, normally confined to kids . You do not grow out of vision processing difficulty. You may refer to Narcy's testimony above.
Dr. Henshaw,
The main improvement I’ve experienced since the vision therapy is that I feel more relaxed. My interaction with my environment seems to be slower and more enjoyable. My thinking is clear and my speech is slower eliminating a tendency to get tongue-tied. Before when I spoke while excited or under pressure it happened-no more.
Work seems to be a perfect place to experience the benefits I’ve gained. As I interact with my co-workers and carry out job assignments I’m more aware of what I’m doing and much less apt to have surrounding activities distract me.
I am learning to relax and just be or live in the present and not let one’s mind be clouded with thoughts of the past or future. This certainly heightens one’s awareness of your surroundings and certainly allows one to enjoy the present more. My life is much easier and less stressful.
Unfortunately I haven’t seen any improvement in my eye turn out condition up close yet. I still have double vision when viewing close objects. Reading swiftly with comprehension is impossible. I seem to have an overwhelming inability to mentally focus and concentrate on printed words; and thus, I read slowly. For example, I may read one sentence with adequate speed and comprehension, then my mind will wander. It’s very frustrating to say the least. Yet, I’m optimistic that my eye turn will improve in time. Signed L. V.
Note: By Dr Henshaw: L. V. had extreme vision processing difficulty of which in the first 2/3rds of his testimony you can see he greatly improved. Lon had a compound vision condition: vision processing and binocular vision. Some times the VIP program is enough to change the binocular vision condition. It looks like LV may need binocular vision therapy if time does not heal the condition.

Reading writing and art improved!!!
Andrew does not flip his letters since starting the therapy. I’ve seen a vast improvement in his reading ability. He sometimes still skips lines but not as often as before. His handwriting has improved tremendously and so has his ability to draw and color. Using the glasses [Lens Therapy] has been very beneficial to his reading time- where before he would tire quickly from reading a book - he now is able to complete whole chapters.

A local Dairy man speaks up. I have noticed is VT is has helped me a lot with my driving. It is also helps with my work. I’m working a lot easier and my days go by a lot faster. For someone that has a vision system like mine was, I highly recommend vision therapy.

Depth appreciated for the first time! Through vision training I have gained a sense of depth in my world, previously unnoticed. It is it is as though a whole new dimension has opened up for me. I am less critical of myself and actually say nice things to me inside. It feels good to feel good about me. Now my ability to concentrate as well as to allow for rest has improved, I’m functioning better in my job and at home. I’m completing projects and taking a break when I’m tired. My energy level is greatly increased and I’m enjoying myself more. I’m still amazed at how little effort these changes took, with such wonderful results, results that I use daily – my dreams are even more vivid! I thank you for your willingness, Dr. Henshaw, to share these special gifts with me. You’ve made a difference in my life. Signed Linda
Not Dumb anymore!
I see a big improvement in my child he doesn't say he is dumb anymore. He is more confident and happy. He is now able to read books. He finishes more work in the in class now. I would recommend this for anyone(VIP Program), but I think a lot of people might have trouble paying for it. I really feel it was worth every penny. I hope the word gets out about this place. I am very happy about Stephen's progress. J.E.

New found calmness!
I seem to notice a more subtle approach or calmness in every day life. Recently when I drove through a large city, I was caught in a 3 to 4 mile backup of bumper to bumper traffic. I traveled through the congestion without any tension as I had noticed in years past.
I don't seem to notice as much tension or stress in everyday life like I remember prior to vision therapy. I don't feel that I have a narrower mind view of life. Now I seem to sit back and take life one day edits one day or step at a time. Prior setbacks or disappointments in life used to frustrate me quite easily. Now I seem to take obstacles in stride or with almost no frustration whatsoever. (Patient didn’t want name displayed but appreciated care.)

Completes homework!
I see an improvement in Sarah in the need to complete her schoolwork so she doesn't have homework. She wants to focus to complete her schoolwork. She can work more on her own and not have to be supervised every minute. She is now pleased knowing she did her best by sticking to her work and when she daydreams she sees the contrast and how long her work takes. Sarah's Mom
